More than just a "light and switch", a modern flashlight design requires considerable thought and examination to meet the needs of your tech-savvy customers. Some aspects to consider are as follows:

The balance between Luminous output vs. battery life.
What drive circuitry will be used and what will the resulting cost vs. performance be.
A simple on/off design will do, or will a microprocessors and firmware to provide active light management (strobe, dim, flash, colors).

Our optics design lab contains modern measurement equipment for measuring luminance flux and wavelength performance over time. Reviewing degradation curves allows us to adjust and validate a design, and to make sure the product is meeting all of its required metrics.

In our evaluation of existing products in the market, we have discovered only a handful of products that actually output the light intensity and battery life they advertise. We only build quality lighting products!
